...but actuarial tables do reflect that generally speaking (of course there will be individual exceptions, but as a whole...), people in certain professions are more likely to ride like t1ts: professional athletes, those in the media and it would seem, according to this advert, the forces. Thinking of all the media folks I know, they certainly as a group drive worse/crash more than average so my own experiences reflect the stats on this.

Well that's me twice as likely to crash as Joe Civvy? I don't believe that but as has been said you do get a lot of people in the forces who are of the opinion that 'If I can survive a warzone then I'm invincible'.

A very good advert though, much better than most of the bike safe ones on TV.

I think the statistic is also true of offshore (oil/gas etc) workers. I used to work in Aberdeen and a few of the divers there were saying that insurance for cars and bikes was more for them as they're more likely to tank it when back on the road.

I can see the logic to be honest....desperate to get home quickly, been off the road for a length of time so a little rusty etc etc
