All info for Zumos can be found here

Yes they are pricey and have some quirks, but I'm very happy with my 550.
The different versions come with different specs and features, be aware of what you're getting if you do decide to go for one.
The 550 is currently the one with all the bells and whistles, Euro maps/bluetooth/text-to-speech/bike mount/car mount etc.

I fancy a Zumo as it can be used for both bike & car. Cant decide on which spec to get though...

Yep, I've got the Zumo 550 aswell, comes with bike and car mount, although the helmet head phones are not included like the TomTom Rider V2.

Very happy with it, got some nice bits, fuel gauge for one, plus it keeps your riding logs, so you can open google earth with software installed, and see where you went, and what times you were there, real good detail aswell, even shows which lane you were in!!!

One slight glitch with mine though, updated to the latest software, and lost my speed cameras, I messaged Garmin about this, they are aware of the problem, and asked me to use a early software till they fix, that works fine, easy enough to do aswell.

Price, very steep, I payed 370 online from Halfords, most prices seemed to be around that. Although the blue tooth headset and mic cost another 100 from Hein Gericke, I could have shopped around I know, but I was in a rush to get it, as was going for a long ride following day, covered 281 miles.

Never got lost once!!

You are very lucky you weren`t spotted doing that , My mate`s father did that on a plane and they very nearly landed and chucked him off it .

I saw in the papers the other day that Garmin are in financial trouble , has put me off slightly in buying something substantial like this until things settle down . I want one for Europe for next year

A nice cheap solution......

£55 delivered.

This can run tomtom if you know what you're doing.

A nice cheap bar mount.

Wrap it in some cling film or pop a baggie over it when on the mount for waterproofing.

£60, job done.

It doesn't effect the flight equipment like they say, wrong frequencies. It is a myth just like the 'no mobile phones' in hospitals crap, if it was vaguely true then all the Consultants and Doctors would not be walking around with mobiles and pagers.

I can confirm DD's comment above, the SF boys always use these toys in aircraft and they do not interfere with in-flight equipment.
