My bike means a lot. It meant learning something new at 33 and making a bit of a change in my life.
Cheaper petrol and tax (I couldn't afford to run a car at the moment)
Quicker journey to work.
The thrill of riding and an element of risk that so many people take out of their lives these days.
Getting more mechanically minded than I ever would with a car (therefore saving mechanics fees!)- and swearing more!
Something new to sort out on it every month!!!
Sheer bloody mindedness when my Bro says Sell it and get a Honda, when something is up with the thing.
Annoying the neighbours with a noisy exhaust!
Getting to know you lot a little bit!! (aaaah!)

This is all I can put in words. I think the bike means more to me than even that!

My bikes are my escape from the reality of being a single mum, yes theres Im Indoors but he still hasn't got the hint after 4 yrs of untogetherness.
I can hop on a bike, and it changes my mood. I can be abolutely peed off to the eyeballs, angry etc and a good ragging makes me feel far much better after. just like If I'm down and I go for a nice slow pootle, it lifts me, anythinkg really, they are my selfish pleasure. I don't drink often, don't smoke, don't go out, as I work weekends on nights, and save my holidays to be amongst people like you loton my bike.
I can't drive, so they are important to get to work on, so if they are poorly, which suzy usually is, I get upset, very upset. I'm emotionally attached to them for all different reason, most of all is the fact that my bikes keep my sanity in tact from the reality of being on my own with my son...which is hard at times

And when my little lad is big enough, in the mind, to sit on the back then it wll be time for us both to enjoy....and we can get out a lot more, but just not right now

This in a strange way cheers me up, as its been doing my head in that nobody around me seems to understand it and are disgusted at the fact that I'm considering getting back on a bike at some stage. I thought it was just me that was weird, lol.

A lot of reasons, but one is that i don't have to be incarcerated with the dregs of society for 30 mins on my way to work.

God made two types of people.
one lot ride motor bike and knowingly risk everything for that thrill, that excitement, that moment of being alive
and Off course he made the other lot……
Why ride bikes, they are dangerous,
they will never know……

I belong to the first lot…

My bikes themselves don't mean a great deal - I'd sell any one of them if someone made me a silly offer - but biking means a great deal. It's my freedom, my pleasure, my means of escape from the horrors of day to day life, sometimes a way to earn a living and a way to stay fit.
