I keep hearing about "Stealth Cameras" here in Lincolnshire that "look" both ways to catch naughty bikers that speed through the front facing cameras but actually photograph the rear.

Anyone know what one looks like. Is it a standard camera box or a van with two cameras sticking out the top like I saw in a layby the other day on the way back from "Skeggy" the other week

Nothing wrong with that imo. If you blatantly speed through a camera because you think it can't get you then don't bloody moan if it turns out it can.

It's because they aim to catch as many as possible, NOT to catch those riding dangerously.

But surely the fact remains the same - if you speed and get caught.... you get ticket. Doesn't matter what they are labelled or where they are put.

It's always been the same for me - you either ride rigidly to the limit or don't whine if you get caught!

Note: never been caught, but fully expect to sooner or later.....so an impartial voice.

In some cases they are not for the intended purpose like they are suggesting......which is what the scam is.

Cameras are often positioned where people will be caught speeding to make 'The safety Partnership'* money.......and often in places where no accidents have occured at all. This is against the policy of the safety camera partnership and therefore the scam.

*a non profit making organisation that made £22m profit last year

As for whether you have been caught or not, who knows, alot of vans catch people in both directions not, at least they do in derbyshire. They get you from a good distance away as well.

Im not condoning speeding and yes your right... I am not disagreeing with you.. but the bug bare still remains that we are all tired of bloody cameras.. lets actually get some police on the streets, who will tell us off.. but maybee also give us a bit of advice, chat about the weather, compliment us on the bikes..

we are just tired of not being able to ride / drive anywhere without the constant OMG theres another camera what speed am i doing....

they will not go away for sure.... but untill them I still dont like them...

Oh sorry to pis on your fire but some of the new camera vans can catch bikes. I believe new ones have small CCTV cameras on them so they can get your plate as you go past Assuming you approached from the side of the actual speed camera facing you.

If you did not see an actiuall open door or window pointing at you with a camera then you have not been caught , i would say this is the case as it was on the other side of the road. They point in the oncoming traffic of the side of the road they are on as a rule.

However if you have been caught you are fooked big style, for those speeds a ban and hefty fine is on the cards!
