The Anti-Pinch Pin looks like a superb idea so im off to buy one now. That way the almax will essentially be round the frame. (thanks GordonM)
I am looking at the Datatool Snitcher cheers imaleon. Looks pretty good for an alert system does anyone know exactly what commands you can text back to the bike from your phone? Would be handy to be able to sound the horn remotely.

I wouldn't bother with the snitcher. I've only heard reports of them being useless before. As they're network and reception dependent; there's just too many chances for it not to work.

I've kept my bike outside in a crap area of Cardiff with no problems so far.

I have :
1 Series IV chain going through the back wheel and over the seat (to lock the back wheel on)
1 oxford monster (as above)
1 series IV going through the other almax, and through the rear wheel and around a lampost
Datatool system 4
A baseball bat at the ready

i've got oxford hardcore / oxford stinger /home made ground anchor / datatool 4 red / and two hairy tooth filled mutts who have chased scrotes away from the bike once so far

look up a protech shelter. I got one and it's like a giant tent but to open it is zips which if you are a light sleeper and are within hearing distance can help a lot because by the time you under zips, crack a chain off etc . . then chances are they'll be on the floor with a 2x4 mark on the back of their head. Plus it allows for working in rain and helps keep crap off it.
