+1. That woman knowingly driving the wrong way down the dual carriageway who killed a biker got less than this, IIRC.

Just watched the police video of it on BBC news, the police is telling the controller over the radio that he's staying 200-300m back when it looks more like 50m. Also he says at one point they haven't met an oncoming car for 1/2, when one passed only about 2 seconds before.

Think you need to check your distance estimates. Never got anything like 50M from the bike. Looks to me like the officer was doing a good job of not 'pressuring' the bike into a fatal mistake, while keeping in contact.

I think prison is for driving while disqualified, no insurance etc as well as running away. The ANPR showed the bike to be not insured and when the police tried to stop him, he ran.

... but we have no speed cameras as they are a blatant tax on the motorist
