I assume after you have been to Devils (Might just pop up to met you there if the sun ever does come out) you intend to drop down to Windermere and do the Kirkstone pass upto Pooley Bridge, or are you intending to do Shap. Either route would make you want to have your bike.

However, I would suggest a little excursion and once you get to the round about over the M6 at Penrith, cross it and follow the A686 signposed for Melmerby & Alston.

Stop at the Cafe on the top of Hartside and admire they view/bikes etc.

Then drop down the other side to Alston, turn left upto Brampton, Longtown and into Sweaty sock land. Fantastic roads, quiet and spectacular views

I'm bringing the (Maltese) weather with my so I'm counting on seeing you mate. I'm fixing a red ribbon to my car's aerial so you'd know it's me ok. Look for a noisy bunch talking in a strange language to a salt and peppered haired bloke (that'll be me).

Look out for these nicely tanned people...
