My advice is don't bother with all the "do it in a day" nonsense.

Do what we did - do it in 3 days and spend a night at each of the locations. Then you can have a few beers and relax along the way.

If I was doing it I would advise to make sure you eat and drink plenty, obvious I know, but often overlooked, take some spare socks as well, and enjoy it if you can. Btw did the jacket turn up ok ?
Yeah, I know the importance of plenty of food and especially drink.

Jacket hasn't arrived yet, just checked with reception and nothing has been delivered. How was is sent? Royal Mail or Courier?

I am trying to convince the group to do it over at least 2 days. But they all seem keen to complete the 24hr challenge! Weather is going to be rubbish through, so I'm more keen to use this as a practice run and do it in the 48hrs then do the 24hr challenge in spring/summer!

Cycling shorts, talcum powder or vaseline/lanacane anti chafing gel 'cause once it's starts it doesn't stop and will get extremely painful, extremely quickly! Don't forget some dry socks, blister patches and some energy tablets/gel things for when you're struggling!
