I can't remember the section names but the miss it miss was a bugger, especially the left then right before it. Always lost where I was until I was through them. Just out of interest, my mate did the Motorrad couse which was just for experienced riders (must have done 2 courses) and they had 4 laps without having to go through the paddock area. He reckoned the bridge came up so quickly at 180 on a blade.

9 minutes is exceptionally fast. I'd love to go again next year, I'll keep my eye out for your tour dates

9 mins is only BTG, missing out the whole on/off straight though. And quick bikes/guys do just over 7 1/2 on bikes BTG, now that is quick.

I'm now at a stage where I can remember all the corners, my normal braking and turn in points, where bumps are (like waiting for the small then big bump at Hohe Acht before putting the power down).

I know it sounds sad but learning the majority of the corner names helped me to visualise and learn the circuit, and you can also pretend to be a pro back in the bar afterwards, instead of saying, "Know that corner after that other corner".

I'll post up my planned daters next year when and as I know, I may even be able to pick up 1 bike and rider from Rotterdam ferry terminal, saving miles, fuel, tyre and bike wear.

what sort of time do you reckon you can do around cadwell tim?

I've half written a program that will read in a bunch of coords from a gps data logger then work out lap and split times for the whole day, going to test it at silverstone and pembrey later this month

At Cadwell I was getting around 1 min 55 according to my Dad who was watching me.

GPS datalogger software sounds interesting, the nokia software is available for free down load and has a whole load of tracks in, but I need to upgrade my phone to use it.

Hope to see you out at the Nurburgring sometime next year, I've used up my TD budget for this year, but have fun at Pembrey and Silverstone.

Not trying to big ourselves up (well maybe I am!) but Neil reckoned me and DMC were doing about 9-9m30s laps on our 3rd and 4th laps round the circuit. Both on GSX-R600's though. I want to time it next year! I was more worried about getting through it in one piece though on my first time out there

Great pics Tim and you obviously got lucky with the photographers - as Binky said we didn't manage to get any photos between seven of us!

Cheers,
Matt

Nice write-up Tim! You seem properly cranked over in some of those pics, one of them looks like you have disappeared off the other side of the bike! I'd love to try the ring one day.

Only way to get round at speed when the pegs start to grind and the knee is down, hang off like a monkey! But it makes for good fun and silly pics too

I think when I timed you round Croft, you were doing about 1.35.
