Thanks for the advice. Got new pads too, but will clean th discs aswell.

I beld mine like it says in Haynes. First with reservoir lid off to bleed master cylinder, then with the reservoir lid on loosely to bleed the brake lines. Is this the right way?

When i bled my brakes i remember having to hold the lever in for ages to let the bubbles pop out v slowly. Whn i let the lever go the bubbles would dissapear back into the brake tube.

Morning all.

A good tip for bleeding a dry braking system is to use as syringe. You'll need to wrap some PTFE tape around the bleed nipple threads to prevent the ingress of air down the threads as you suck (MATRON).
When you appear to have bubble free fluid coming through on both calipers, stop sucking & leave the bleed nipple you're using open, then suspend the syringe vertically for 10 minutes or so. Then gently push the fluid back through the system. This will often send any trapped bubbles up to the reservoir.
Obviously when doing this start with the reservoir nearly empty & keep an eye on the level, or you're going to have brake fluid all over the place.

The cable tie trick does work, however you must pump the brake lever rapidly a dozen times or so, & on the last pump hold the lever in & then apply the cable tie. Leave it on for 30 minutes or so, & then see how firm the lever is.

Cheers.

Before you let the lever go, close the bleed nipple otherwise ( as you are finding ) the fluid with bubbles just goes backwards & forwards!
