Yeah that's what I've always thought since I was asked it in my Driving test 20 yrs ago. But the HC only says when you turn into a side road that they are already crossing

I seem to end up with the ones that are like deer caught in the headlights, they will start crossing the "empty" road ahead of me so I'll move to go behind them in their line of travel; at that point they turn and stare at me in fear and start moving backwards...so I move to the right to compensate (go in front of them instead)...at which point they move forwards...idiots.

Maybe should start a points system and see who can rack up the most terrified pedestrians in a year
