He's an actor ffs. What do you expect him to do? You don't have to watch it.

Why would anyone get bored of Long/Any way shows?

I guess I'm tired of the same old criticisms being trotted out that just don't make any sense to me.
You would think we would be most pleased that these types of shows are aired

I'm not so sure he does it for exposure?

i really think he does it because he loves doing it(and has a very understanding wife)

if you weren't filming it for TV you could probably do it without a support crew?

attention span. effort is required with decent shows to get the most out of them. watch corry and the like and you can be lobotomised and still follow them...

id love to do this...but not on such a planned level....

travelled loads between the ages of 18 - 24....most of the time with very little money just getting by with odd jobs etc...ended up living a yr in italy love that place...

if i could have done it on a bike that would have been amazing...

shame i got into biking AFTER having a family.....gonna be a while till i can do it now!!!...

although my mrs says as long as i buy a goldwing (so she can be comfy)she'll travel with me....hhhmmmmm

It was dismal. The whole 'multiple modes of transport' concept seems pretty limited.

That said, LWR only really got good when they ventured away from western Europe and they swung into buddy-buddy travelogue mode. I'll ignore LWD because that was just dull as dishwater from start to finish.

Hopefully, once they get out of Europe and on to some far-flung places, and focus more on the travelogue angle and less on exactly which four-wheeled vehicle Charlie's travelling in or on at the time, it'll pick up a bit.

Don't think I'll be setting the PVR though.

I think i get you. I watched it while also surfing - hence I want to watch it again. But I think I still followed it enough to understand the next episode.
Still confused that people on here would complain at something that's worth watching

We can all do the Long Way Round as in MCN last week. But for 30K!

I enjoyed it immensely , it`s the excitement of a big journey , as far as pre-planning goes , of course it has to be . You can`t just waltz into the Middle East stating you are British and would like to wander around their "Risky" territory at your merest whim . The parts with boats I suppose were pre-planned as they are on a time schedule , I would have preffered it if they just turned up at some docks and begged a lift and were made to gut fish or something to pay their way . As far as coverage for an actor goes ......... pish , posh and piffle . How many of us have done a long haul and thought "NEVER AGAIN" when we get off the bike at home ? ....... 2 days later you are missing it and want to go out again . It`s good TV and you should be glad for the privelage to be able to see shows such as this on British TV .

I did 1000 miles in a day and was hammered , thought I would never do it again , I take my hat off to these guys for their endurance , watch Charlies "Paris to Dakar" DVD , he`s more hardcore than Ewan is IMHO and I didn`t like Charlie at first and thought he was a whinger .... my view of that guy is the other way around now and Ewan seems to be more of a Whinger in my eyes . Still like what they do and why they do it , probably done more sales for biking than any other single thing on TV in the last 10 years .

I quite enjoyed it, seemed a little more relaxed and I always thought Charlie came across better than Ewan anyway.

Just looked like a bunch of blokes on a road trip to me. Much better than Long Way Down was.
