I've always used and always will use sports touring tyres. For road riding I see no point in the latest sport tyre unless I did loads and loads of track days.

BT021's - great all weather tyre andd still stick like glue when pushed hard.

Avon Storms - Good in the dry , outstanding in the wet. The only thin with this tyre is the reactive footprint technology. The tyre moves about depending on lean angle to give maximum amount of rubber on the ground, it can feel a bit off as it feels like it's moving (well it is). Takes some getting used to.

I always liked Z6's on my SV. Wanting something more hardwearing on my GSXR I've just fitted a pair to that. I feel more confident on them than I ever did on the Corsa III's doubly so in the wet. I would have thought any of the current crop of Sport Touring tyres would be what you're after, just depends which have a preference for.

The Z6 and Strada are good, but they're diabolical in snow, no centre tread on the rear. But I don't suppose that'll bother most people. All these sport touring tyres are great tbh.

I dont have loads to spent so I think corsa 3's are out, I was looking at Michelin Pilot Sports as they seem to do the job and are cost effective,(read old and cheap)

other than that I was looking at some conti road or race attacks?

I know this is an Sv forum, but you lot tend to do more mileage in bad weather that tuono riders...! (cept me)

Please list type and make, with reasons for and against, please dont derail with the i dont like his tyres because..

Many thanks

If you master your bike you can control the slide and get your experience up, rather than relying on your bike to help you stay on.
ok im going to try and not get offended, I can in all other circumstances control my bike, being in third gear at 3k rpm coming off a roundabout, is not 60mph more like 20, sure it was too much for these tyres in that amount of rain. The 208rrs are a sport tyre with one piece of tread every 150mm isnt going to help is it..

I am an experianced rider who has ridden though numerous winters, whislt i am not hoping the tyres will cure anything, its purly that it might help...

plus £200 on new tyres compared with the £450 excess on my insurance... ill take the tyres thanks..

+ 100000 for the storms. Everyone in the massive seem to be slowly fitting them now. Trying to get Im Indoors to put em on his Raptor but he is not convinced they will suit.
I've ridden em in all weathers and in some freezin conditions, so has YC..super...shame they went upside down Tuesday, but they weren't to blame
