Default Re: Anyone else on here suffer cluster headaches?

i had them for a wee while. got tablets to take at night (cant remember name sorry) they knocked me out and I stopped taking them as one of my kids was up in the night chucking up and he couldnt wake me.

I then started getting migraines - did food intolerance testing and it was discovered I was intolerant to wheat, citric acid and yellow colouring, probably a breakfast of orange juice and toast was not the best start to the day.

Now get migraines that are linked to hormonal changes monthly, but as Im up the duff I dont have them. hoping they dont come back as I end up in bed for about 3 days each time.

hope you get it sorted.

Just thought I'd ressurect this thread as I'm having another bout.

Anyone else managed to get the Imigran injections? They work brilliantly for me as opposed to the nasal sprays which are almost useless given the time they need to work. I got caught out today without any whilst driving so parked up and tried the red bull trick. I popped into the co-op and after the red bull and pain killers fell fast asleep for about half an hour by which time it'd gone. Weird.

I think mine are lessening in severity but maybe it's because I'm taking the shots after a few minutes of tingling instead of waiting for the bad stuff.

Does anyone else fall asleep after treatment? Possibly one of the worst I've had started whilst walking home from a funeral. When I finally got to my Girlfriends parent's house and done the shot I conked out for about 2 hours!

There was a man on a wheely stretcher in agony and it baffled everyone until (in true casualty style) someone had a hinch and that was that. I went to see the head doctor and he confirmed it to me. only just reread this thread as a result of its recent resurrection.

Hope this explains what it is

See how the tumor presses against the brain. No wonder the poor cow got headaches. the worst part about all of this was her GP phoned her at work to tell her the tumor had been found on the CT. She then had to go home shell shocked. My brother went round to his surgery threatened to do him serious damage for the depression diagnosis. Her consultants were brilliant and supportive. The neurologist who made her fall over in about 5 mins of getting in his room saved her life that day.

Mrs W gets two or three a week, with one bad one every month or so. The bad one usually sees her throwing up for about 4-8hrs, and totally wasted for about 24hrs. Strangely enough the bad ones used to be on Sundays but in recent years they can be any day of the week.

It is amazing the things I learn on here.

Thanks for sharing people, I seem to have Migraine symptoms every week at the moment, which has gone up sharply from my three a year. Definitely stress induced and they have upped my use of Almotriptan.

Spent the first year at Uni doped up on meds due to cluster headaches, my lecturers were not allowed to tell me off for sleeping during classes, although they were allowed to wake me up if I snored too loud.

That sounds like something different Bri with the odd timing and length of them. Whatever the case if she hasn't sound any good drugs for them tell her to mention Imigran (sumatriptan succinate) injections. The lady in my local pharmacy's husband suffers terrible migraines and apparently they've changed his life immeasurably.
