All I can say is contact your local dealer and hope they have it in stock.

Looking on the Alpha sports site it appears to be part 10 - 11351-19F50 COVER, MAGNETO.

Sorry to here about your incident.

How much slack should there be on an sv650s when just sitting on its stand. Mine is about 1 inch and has not been adjusted since april when a new tyre was put on.

Slack should be 25 - 35mm IIRC, if you still have a standard chain guard on it, there should be a little sticker on there that tells you how much it should be adjusted to.

Yours sounds about right IMHO.

Well apart form a new chain and sprocket set which you might be able to get from a dealers, or order now for a quick delivery from B&C Express.
+1 , I ordered a DID X ring Gold Chain and Carbon Steel JT sprockets from them and they arrived damn quick for the measley postage they asked for

The only wire that I remember being down there is the side stand cut out. It's got a mount that uses one of the sprocket cover bolts, and feeds down pretty damn close to the front sprocket.

I don't think that's your issue, unless the wires are touching each other (so you get to turn over, but the vibrations kill the engine when the wires contact).

I'd start looking elsewhere for the starting issues - start by removing the plugs & making sure they work (that'll tell you if the problem is electrical).

Congrats on manhandling it to the side of the road, and thankfully it sounds like there wasn't as much damage to the bike as there could of been.
