Its the back chattering away then

Coil bound is when the spring is fully compressed ... i.e. all the gap between windings is used up and they touch each other, obviously when this occurs, the front won't be able to compress any further.

This may help you. I also get something similar, can deffinatly feel its from the front though. Its as the brakes grip and then let off a little as the grip goes on the disc because of the muck and grime causes a little vibration.

Anyway read it and see what you think.

Taa.
when people on that apprillia website are talking about "rotors" are they talking about brake discs?

i have found in the last couple of weeks that i'm having a similar sort of problem.

Yeah, does seem like the back chattering- if I continue to brake harder the wheel slides. I am a big old chap as you know so this might have some increased effect. Cheers!

And I believe that yes, rotors refers to brake discs. Not 100% though.

If the conversation is wheel/brake related then yes, across the pond in the USA they call brake discs 'brake rotors'.

Whats the chain like? If its full of tight spots then if the back wheel has little weight on it then this could cause vibration! So check the chain and wheel alignment and oil it as needed.

Back wheel chattering at limit of grip when stamping on the brake isn't really that catastrophic a sign.

Blue, I was fairly sure that the SRAD forks will hit their stops and bottom out properly before the springs become coil bound?

Yarp. I go on having 10mm left over travel when braking hard as possible, that's set using the preload with the compression pretty soft, (but not so soft it dives past...) then firm it up to make dive more controllable. Seems to work.
