Try "Direct Choice" for quotes , I always get good quotes from them . The TL has a bad insurance rep , but let`s face facts , there are probably more crashes done on popular bikes than a TL . It`s undeserved really but it still carries that stigma .

With 2 years no claims, I've been quoted <£500.

Why did they think chopping the balls off the power delivery was going to make the suspension work?

Yeah, being 20 won't help.

I take it you are legally nolonger restricted to 33bhp?

The TL's are lovely bikes, I have a TLR track bike, and the reports of the so called 'widow maker' are very OTT. Yes out of the crate it is not the best handling bike, it isn't a pig and it isn't dangerous either. Most of the crashes have been down to riders not being expereinced or just stupid, hence why Suzuki softened the power off a bit as riders were cracking the throttle out of corners like idiots.

To get the most out of a TL you will need to dump the rear rotary shock and fit either a Ohlins or Maxton replacement. The forks are ok, they could do with a quick twiddle but they are not as bad as people comment. The steering damper is only there to mask the handling at its limit, to be honest if you sort out the rear you can dump the damper.

I am not saying the shock or forks must be changed or looked at, the bike can be ridden very well as is.
