Yeap, nothing to worry about.

No and why would it, plastic doesn't rust and corrode.

Keep it off of the brake discs!

It forms a protective barrier, unlike the other product mentioned above this will not come off on the next wet weather ride. It helps prevent corrosion from starting and also helps eat away at signs of pre-existing corrosion.

Fantastic thanks Dave, just wouldnt mind spraying it all over the bike is all Dave. Water beading on contact none of it hanging round on plastics either making a nice waterproof bikey.

Last thing, its not like WD-40 is it? WD rots rubber doesnt it? I imagine it wouldnt be like that.

Good stuff, looks like the smoke hasnt finished yet - theres gonna be a white, smokey, mean, V twin sounding tornado on its way to work tomorrow!

Fork corrosion does nothing anyway, just looks a bit naff. My forks were fine after a winter, just used ACF50 and let the crap build up. Same with the rest of it, the finish is lovely underneath!

Most of the corrosion on the forks is actually the laquar flaking/pitting and not the fork leg. I use ACf-50 on the forks too, I apply with a rag and then wait til the summer (if it still exists) before I touch them again.

As Chris said, under the crap is a nice clean and corrosion free bike.

Don't tell anyone that about mine. It's not commonly known, but there is a bike lurking under the rolling heap of grease...

If I put ACF on, can I still wash it regulary without taking it back off?

Will it look clean or the layer of ACF be manky and always look dirty?

So just cover the whole bike in it, except paint work and brakes?

No. If you wash it off, then whats the point of putting it on?

If you wash it, reapply it.

I thought it was a pain to get off, so I could still wash the majority of the dirt off? Or at least clean the paintwork.

It would kill me to go 3 months + without cleaning it, especially if the roads are covered in crap.

I just purchased a car! Much warmer, it can get as salty as it wants and im not too bothered. Howerver this morning my 15 mile journey to work took nearly 20 minutes longer than it does on the bike!

Last year I covered my engine in scottoil stuff after every wash, seemed to do the trick!

My experience was first winter on the hosed it (not washed) after every ride - didnt rust at all. Second winter the same, but on my other bike a kwak Z750 it rusted after the first winter when I was commuting. The ACF-50 kept most bits looking good, its was the small bolts that went.

My engine from another sv was pretty new but had corroded quite badley so I hope that helps
