Not silly but pointless.
There is a sign in Milton Keynes that is situated 3 foot in front of a lamp post warning of a Railway Crossing in '197 yds'.
Why not put it 3 yards frowards and make it 200yds or put it on the lamp post and make it 196yds rather than waste money putting another pole up.
The best thing though is further down the road there is yet another purpose built sign 3 foot in front of a lamp post warning of a railway crossing in 33 yds.

Why 197 and 33??

197yards is about 180m

Australia 18 months ago I seen this sign. Drove past it and then thought wtf, had to take photo as no one would beleive me. so lads out there if it gets cut off you know where to go

Photographed this one in Windhoek, they have a thing for dictators there as there are other streets too.

Ps. it was at the intersection between Mugabe ave and Ballot st. that made me laugh the most!
