nowt you could have done about the black ice, i guess the councils haven't been gritting like they should have, like someone else said. Or are they saving their surplies, just in case they run out later this winter.

I once had a slow montion 4 wheel slide round a corner on black ice, in a frontera, big tyres, no grip whatsoever!

no evidence of gritting yesterday in sunny Suffolk, damn it was cold. Todays fine, no frost, just cold wind

Bugger. glad all is relatively OK Si. i must fit my "crash bungs" too. i rode back in snow last night which was fun (read really cold and annoying). The side stand switch chose that moment to f up leaving me fiddling round in the dark with freezing hands for 10 min trying to bypass it. This winter stuff sucks!

. It looked like awful conditions out there so I took the car. TBH it really isn't the weather for biking when there is ice about. Glad you are relatively ok and everything is repairable.

I'm fast thinking that a ss600 probably isnt the best bike to be on in winter. Oh well I enjoy it too much to do anything about it!
