He then served a Freedom of Information Act request on Shropshire County Council which disclosed that the sign had been moved by request from ParkRight made 10 days after the ticket was appealed, and they dismissed his appeal on the basis that the car was inside the ped area when they knew all along that not only that it wasn't but that they had asked the Council to move the sign so that they could uphold the validity of the ticket.

I don't recall anyone being sacked over it. Shows how corrupt the system is.
Yep, I've had experience of something similar first hand. Came back to find a seemingly unjustified parking ticket on the window. Photographed the car from all sides showing there wasn't a single sign/road marking visible that said I oughtn't to be parking there. To their credit, they dropped it. I suspect the poor sods who also got ticketed there who just paid it unquestioningly didn't get theirs dropped though...

I'm appalled, but not surprised, that they were not disciplined for it. Did the victim of the parking scam counter sue and report for perverting the course of justice?

Head over to www.pepipoo.com and go to their parking ticket forum. 90%+ parking tickets are legally unenforceable.
If you have already paid there is a small chance you can get your money back.

I'm waiting to get clamped again. I've now got a 4x4 and I've seen the damage one of these does to a wheel clamp when you simply drive off with it attached. Round here the scumbag clampers lay in wait in their van for you to come back - it''ll be good to see the look on their faces when their clamp is spat out from under my wheels
