Exactly, I generally cook huge portions for myself anyway and eat them over the next couple of days which isn't so bad. Unconveniently the cupboard I have is above the sink and I have to stand on tiptoes to see onto the top shelf of it properly, the bread was actually a crust I hadn't seen was still in there

What really amazes me is the restaurants that manage to give their customers salmonella and the like. I mean, many of us have done the whole student kitchen thing, and so few of us have managed to give ourselves food poisoning - just how bad are restaurant kitchens when we all seem to survive the student kitchen phase?

A very good point Matt, I've only had poisoning at uni so far, and that was alcohol, not even food! Some of the stuff I've seen people eat, it does make you wonder. I guess a lot of people just burn everything to a crisp, cremation is a good guarantee when getting rid of nasty bacteria...and parasites

Everyone has to have lived like this for a wee while in their lives. Its part of growing up.
Me and my best friend used to live together and would wash up once every 2/3 months. It was awful but looking back it was quite funny. We used to enjoy the 2 hours it took trying to guess just what the hell used to be on the plate.
Then the cycle would begin again.

Cant live like that anymore. Kerri would never allow it.

I have to admit if Kerri wasn't there nagging me to wash up there would always be dirty plates in my flat. I HATE WASHING UP.

"So FG1 never in all your life have you ever accidentally let something go off? That's pretty good going if so "

Once I notice that something is going off, nowhere near what you have, it gets binned straight away.

Ah yes but you see that is where we fail! It's the noticing it in the first place that is the hard part! Anyway the tomato puree isn't mine.

Lol there's a reason why I haven't poisoned myself yet, I know what off food is and therefore won't proceed to cook with it! As I've mentioned, food only gets like this because it's been forgotten about
