59K in and mine still havent been done. They do need checking though which i will do at the weekend (If its dry!)

Yeah, anyone can check their own clearances, it's as hard as putting a bookmark in a book Though it's another one of those jobs which is easy, but has the potential for dropping things down the cam chain tunnel into the engine, which would be Bad. Changing shims isn't for the unskilled though, since we're shim-under-bucket (but then that's also why we almost never have to reshim- mine is up to 40-odd thousand miles, which isn't much, but it's also had new intake cams and its old intake cams turned into exhaust cams, the tolerancing is good enough that they all fitted without reshimming! Which over a 5-year production period is frankly nuts)
