I bought my 05 sv650 with 3000 miles on the clock.
2 years later, she is on 20,000, and i have to say I think she is better now than ever before (negating the sagging suspention) mechanically she sounds and feels a lot better.

Go for the 55 plate. make sure its blue (as they are faster)

55 plate gets my vote too. You can't ride a bike at this time of year without decent gear... Well you can, but it's really not comfortable or recommended. There's also no doubt that you'll want to make a couple of changes - can, seat cowl etc.

I would expect if your buying from a dealer you'll get some kind of basic warranty as well... maybe only 3 or 6 months gearbox and engine, but thats better than nothing. Might be worth trying for the next service in the deal as well.

I'll take monthly payments, £2000 initial deposit then £1 a month for 10 years APR 1000% (subject to status)

Can arrange delivery to north east (london)

Seeing as option c) has been mentioned, how about secret option d), buy an older curvy for dirt cheap, it will feel much the same to ride but save you even more cash on the purchase and for the insurance

i thought you were going to say like 60 or 70 k!

i nearly fell off the chair when i read that. what year was the bike?

Dunno, a curvy one anyway, wasn't original engine as he kept blowing them up chasing after power rangers.

Some yank guy on here has done about 130k on original motor.
