Ask local vets to put it up in their window- it's a hell of a time though to be rehoming, very difficult at the moment, a lot of rescues are full, and it gets even worse in January sadly.

I'm tempted myself but I don't think the folks would be too happy.

At eight yr old they'd be hard to be re-trained for gun dogs. Why is it so hard to keep them with a month old baby? I should imagine they are a lot more placid than my honey dog at 18 month old, when my son was six month. Can she not just grin and bear it, kids and animals adapt very quickly together. You just have to make a little more effort to be on the ball with them.
LAb rescue should take them as a pair and rehome them as a pair. Most pedigree rescue try to think of their best interests ...they have spent eight yrs together I presume. Also the male needing medication would put some folk off straight away.
Is this just a whim or has it been reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaallllly carefully thought of?
Good luck either way

p.s I think Bill would love the company.....i'm sure your mum wouldn't notice another 2 You could pretend they were all Bill..lol

No harm in asking though

Hmm I didn't register how old they were, I guess they just look fit and healthy lol. I still think it would be worth advertising though, you never know, and labs are clever, or at least they can be when they want to be, training wouldn't be so difficult with the right owner.

Oh and Dizzy, half a tablet a day is hardly a big problem is it! If he was diabetic or something that could make it difficulty but I honestly don't think a tablet would make a difference in the decision to take him on..

well it wouldn't be to someone like you and I. But some people are really put off by the pound signs that half a tablet a day generates over a life. But theres nowt as queer as folk, and its a large issue to consider for some thinking of rehoming a dog. I'm just looking at it from a general point rather than personally, as I wouldn't be put off.

It does depend how many pound signs we're talking about.

It's no more expensive than buying yourself or a child a nice prezzie, but yes I know what you mean. People do have different priorities.

Will their breeder not take them back?? We have a contract with ours should something happen that we can't keep Mina she has to go back to her breeder.

They may be able to help re-home them if they can't take them back.

Hope they find a home soon, but they may ave to realise that they may not get homed together which will be a shame, but dogs rarely get homed together

I could never give up my dogs because i was starting a family.

If I wasnt already a three dog household Id have em.
As an aside to the baby issue, when we had our kid he joined a family that included a 7 year old fox terrier, and we had all the usual worries. The dog was a "character" and no pushover but they took to each other instantly and were inseparable until the dog died at a ripe old age.Dont tell the social services but they even used to sleep together in the dogs basket.
