anyone else been a .org pimp?

I left a note on a K6 in Belle Vue Road, Shrewsbury. That was a few weeks ago, rider ain't joined up yet as far as I know

I advertise the org all over my bikes
I have been known to say 'do you do lunge?' to strangers...thats where 'lunge the new secret handshake' comes from....in fact when we're at Squires and the massive get together we get a lot of funny looks lunging at SV owners. I'm not embarrassed by asking strangers of they know about the site.

I did invite someone to join this week as they were after some techincal advice but so far I haven`t seen him signing up

I asked a complete stranger at the Cat and Fiddle if they'd like to lunge with us when I was there with Dissuade and Pepin in the summer. Yeah, there was a funny look...

I also told a guy who attends the same martial arts club as me to join as he has an SV - he said he would and has never done so...or turned back up for another class.

I tried to recommend some fella this site but he then informed me that we just about to Trade his SV in for a VFR so gave up.

I also tried to recruit a guy on a GSXR750 who was complaining about not knowing where to go to hear about and attend rideouts. I was talking to him about NW4 and commenting on how great it was and that not once on the whole weekend day were we on a straight road. His exact words were....

'Oh bendy roads??? Id rather get off and push it round!!!'

That's one thing I will never do. I read a thread on (I think) pistonheads about some guy who crashed into a biker (seriously injured but fortunately not killed) going the other way in Yorkshire while driving his tuned Civic. He had stickers all over his car advertising the website and the Police trawled through the site looking for posts where he'd admitted that he regularly thrashes up and down that road and broke the law. The guy went to jail for dangerous driving on the evidence presented, as it was used to prove the guy wasn't a responsible driver.
