Of course, I just don't think Gazza has anything to offer as one.
What's he gonna do, stroll on to the training ground at midday with a hangover and say 'alreet lads, this is how yous drink newkie b' I thought he was brilliant as a player. But now I don't think he has anything to offer football anymore. |

Depends how far down the road to ruin you go mate, Gazza's gone a long way out of the distance. If you spend the next ten years boozing, do you think you'll still be any good to help the kids?
Don't get me wrong, as I said, I thought he was a brilliant player and I'd love to see him back on his feet and in a coaching position - look where Tony Adams is now - but in his current condition I stand by my opinion that Gazza has nothing to offer footy atm. |

Your second paragraph, the key word (slang term) is "atm". I'm with you, I hope he gets back on his feet and sorts himself out and can be in the position he can coach players, firstly he needs to build trust in family and friends and then fans/critics. |

Gazza was one of my heros when i was younger, i think he played his best football when he signed for the Gers and this was backed by his performances for England during Euro 96 (and that peach of a volley he scored against Scotland-I got leathered off my mates for cheering that goal)-but watching this last night has shown how far mentally he's gone over the edge.
The abuse that he's put he's family through over the years is shocking and i think they should be give a medal for the support that they still offered him-i didn't watch the end of the programme because to be honest it had already sickened me enough. Gazza = Great footballer -Bad father. |

I think the problem with Gazza was that even back then, he had a lot of money and fame as a kid. Was thrust into the limelight in 1990 and that was it. Didnt have anyone looking after him and all his so called mates were only interested in squeezing what they could get from him, screwing him up along the way. Unfortunately, it looks like he is heading the way of Best. His football days are behind him. He would be better suited to getting himself clean, addressing his mental health issues and then being some kind of mentor for kids at the Sporting Chance clinic, a sort of warning sign to others as to how bad it can get. Someone needs to get hold of him before he kills himself as he's certainly heading that way.
