Stebel Magnum is usually a bolt-on replacement with no relay needed. Though quite a few people fit relays with them to be on the safe side. I've had no problems with mine without a relay, though it's on a Speed Triple rather than an SV.

Right thanks guys. I'm gonna order one of these.

Its says its simple to fit with the supplied connectors - and as said above no mention of relays. I've got to take the farings off in spring to remove my heated clothing harness and wash all the acf50 off - so i'll fit it then.

Gotta love this website - i get more specific Fazer advice on here than i do on www.foc-u.co.uk.

The Magnum's a bit bulkier than a standard electromagnetic horn, but makes a LOUD parp! Straight swap for the standard squeaky horn on my bike.

So, for the benefit of those of us who aren't FZ1 owners, can the lazy man (me in this instance) just whack a Magnum negative relay on an SV and enjoy the parpiness?

One magnum #should# be alright with stock SV wiring, or indeed FZ wiring. It's when you go to multiple ones or bigger than that that you need a relay.
