Sounds like it was worth it to be shot of them then I guess, if I am going to take a hit changing to another insurer I'd like to make sure the change is worthwhile. The car is insured with Admiral as they've been consistently the cheapest (aside from swiftcover who seem to be anything but swift) and the service I've had over the years has actually been good. Unfortunately they don't do bike insurance at all though.

I think your best bet would be to change the bike on your existing policy, pay the difference and let it run for the remaining six months. This means you get a years no claims in six months time, and that is when you shop around for the best renewal.
All that may be nonsense though if your existing policy wont insure the new bike as often happens in the great insurance rip off.

![]() Most insurance companies ask "where is the vehicle usually/normally parked?".. Usually/normaly being the words.. Easy.. "I usually/normally park my bike in the garage.. but there was a problem with the door so I parked in on my driveway the day it was stolen" |

Ok, Bennetts are mucking me about at the moment - gave me a quote last week for upgrading the policy, now they claim they won't insure me at all on the SV650s. Combined with some of the horror stories on here I think it's time to dump them and just lose the five or so months I have and go with someone else.
With the 14 day cancellation, if you do cancel do you get a full refund? I'd like to get a new policy taken out promptly however I'd like some peace of mind. I've read through the insurer's clauses and it's not clear what your rights are with cancellation within 14 days. Thanks, John |
