I must say Badger, I find the this the same with Dremels. I bought one last year to polish forks and downpipes and nearly carved a hole in one of them when I slipped.
It was very good to get the remaining paint off the footpeg hangers and get an initial base to work from, but then elbow grease from then on was much better.

Yeah they are handy for the nitty gritty bits but not recommended for polishing duties unless it`s the head of a stainless bolt or something just as hard , handy for engraving stuff as well

I don't think I'm using mine to its full potential. I've only ever used it once and that was to remove vinyl from a car.
