As much as I love Red Dwarf, this has all the potential to suck.

The writing was best when it was Grant / Naylor - when the partnership disolved the show lost the plot a bit for me. Bringing Kachanski back was a big mistake. The article only mentions one writer so I am not holding out hope that it will be a return to the 'double-polaroid' humour.
