Have a look on Ebay or the For Sale section on here for full power ECU's, or post a thread in the Wanted section. The original owner who restricted it should have been given the full power parts.
Unfortunately I am going to buy it in official Suzuki dealer, and sometimes the motos are just sold here with this limitation. So the prev. owner has no parts at all; I bet this is the case.

I don't understand why the SV's are sold restricted, is there a legal power limit or something in your country?

The motorcycle should be sold producing full power unless laws do not allow this, a dealer should not charge you to convert the bike to how it should be sold in the first place.

How does the ECU safely limit the power?

Sure you could run mega rich, but seems a silly way to do it?

Simple Version: It controls the throttle bodies, thus controlling the movement of the butterflies and the amount of fuel the bike puts in for combustion.

In Switzerland there is a special category A-, and if you have it you have to ride 25 kw motos Look at official Suzuki web site, they are selling 25kw versions: http://www.suzuki-motorcycles.ch/fr/...s/models/25kw/

25kw motos are quire popular here. You cannot bypass A- category, as you can get A category to ride gross cubes only and only if you are 25 years old (or older).

Ah... got ya, learn something new every day.

We have something similar here where you can be restricted for 2 years to 25kw (33bhp) or go for a full power test (depending on your age).

It is very easy to derestrict, simply unplug the restricted ECU and plug in a full power one. Might be worth seeing if you can source a full power ECU on Ebay or something, it will be a lot cheaper than paying for a new ECU and having it fitted by a dealer.

Here's a list of the ECUs currently available on Ebay.

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_t...All-Categories

Any of the ECUs from 2003 to 2006 will do the job. I think they are different from 2007 onwards.

Agree, technically it is very easy. But you have to have an insurance here. It is obligatory. If you are insured for 25kw, and you damage some property and police discovers that ECU is changed, you are fined by police, insurance company does not pay for damage you've done, and you can also be put into prison . Also your insurance history turns into bad. So in future you will pay more.

Pretty much the same here for the restricted ridwers, although they can legally derestrict the bike themselves when the restriction period is over.

I take it you have to remain on a 25kw bike for a little longer then?
