There hardly that many signs, the barriers are only really on major bend......not sure what you mean about road marking? every road has road marking lol

Waste of tax money if you ask me, they'll just be vandalised anyway! If the government/local councils have a problem with bikers, they ought to follow the European government's ideas: The French government built an awesome track and it's free for bikers (Was in this months Bike mag) and the Germans with their Nurburgring. Why oh why doesn't the UK make an equivalent!!?

I s'll stick to Shroppie. Can't beat A488 running south from S'bury to the Cross Gates via Bishops Castle, Clun and Knighton. Not one camera in over 50 miles of one of the most fantastic bike roads in the country. And back along the A44 to Leominster - no cameras there either, as those who come on MM2 will find out - we'll do the MM1 route in reverse action.

Mid to late May, final date to be set.

I liked the Peak District last weekend, but I didn't like the endless drab villages, the endless 30mph limits, the narrow roads, the dry stone walls to crash into, police everywhere, and Binky constantly needing a pee

Front or rear facing?
Don't know the road, what's the speed limit? wha's the chances of breaking the speed limit in the twisty bits?

There is an article in mcn this week about this and it say's they are new fangled average speed cam's that are specially designed for bikes and it will be imbossible to stop for a bit to increase your average speed.Personally i dont rate the road, there are far better roads in the north west.

50 mph average? The main problem will be the eye sore they create. Its basically the only arguement that would cause them not be installed.

They would be installed "tactically" so expect several down any faster sections and fewer more spaced out over twisty sections.

Whilst only temporary I note that at the A46/M40 interchange there are currently some 12 > 16 spec installations within a 1KM radius of the main island.

See? that's where you went wrong right there!

MCN

How could it be impossible that stopping would not lower your average speed?

Doesn't really matter where they're installed as they're measuring the speed between each point not the absolute speed at each camera.
