Two things about oil, the one everybody mentions viscosity,but there is also the specification which can vary within the same viscosities so sometimes it is not correct to dismiss an oil simply on the viscosity values

Use a 10W-40 part synthetic ( or full synthetic if you want the best protection and performance ) but look for JASO MA-2 specification - this means it's been tested to the latest Japanese wet clutch / gearbox specifications and is suitable for bikes.
