Some of the contraptions in there are quite interesting, others little more than slightly faster cruisers.

No research needed. Very little money.

Stiffer springs, and slightly heavier oil would add maybe 1p to the build price.

Yup, or if they'd done all that and bought emulators, one by one, over the counter at retail price and fitted those, that'd only have added about £150 per bike

Or fitted some of SRADs front ends which they must have left over somewhere...

Or just made a cheap cartridge fork like h*nda manage to do with the hairnet...

But since they couldn't even stir themselves to fit slightly stiffer springs and damping oil that damps, I suppose this might be asking a bit too much
