depending on cost it could be worth keeping for a year maybe? Especially if the bike is liable to spit its dummy out while you get it back upto full health just a thought

I used to be a recovery driver and the best one imho is green flag and they do cover bikes.I have double checked this as i am with them.Do be careful what cover you get as they will sell you cover with recovery but what they don't tell you is it's 10 miles only, you need cover for recovery anywhere. The amount of times i had to deal with irate members who thought they were covered and weren't(usually got free cover with insurance)so make sure you ask when you buy and get it in writing.

I have cover with my bank account.

Just checked to make sure it covers bikes and it does. I am with lloyds tsb with a platinum account and the cover with that is quite good.

I know a lot of the banks give out cover with there accounts, have a check with yours it might save you a bit of cash.

I have vehicle rescue direct.. and they have now recovered *cough* three trashed bikes, but all within the 10 miles.

Not sure how they are for repair though as my bikes dont fail.. they just have car drivers roll over them.

They recoverd happily even though i forgot to update the new bike with them.

RAC cover the person, not the vehicle, so one policy on your car will cover the bike too. Worth remembering!

Yep same here - although you are not covered in event of an accident, however my insurance had that cover built in.

Interesting thing about the AA cover is its for you, not a specific bike - I unfortunately found that out AFTER KrazyKims NSR died - I could have claimed the NSR was mine and they would have come for it....

Might be useful on ride-outs in the future.....

NCI online, cheap and efficient.

Not used them in a while but the bike is only 10 months old.

Optional plus is another £10 and will recover you after an accident, this is to anywhere in the Uk not within 10 miles.

ended up extending the churchill/greenflag cover I got ripped off on on my car (£65 full cover anywhere in the uk, unlimited call outs, recovery to anywhere) added £15 to change the cover to cover myself rather than the vehicle I'm in. Would have been £25+ to get a seperate policy on the bike. Doubt it covers RTA's though.
