I've used these guys for my race tyres, pretty good service.

The Dunlop D208RR tyres are pretty good and quite cheap.

Depends on what kind of riding you do Ed. Do you really need something like Supercorsas? They are very expensive and only worth it if you are going to cane the nuts out of your bike IMO.

I've put Z6' on my GSXR, in the dry it feels just as good as it did on the Pilot Power 2CT's and the Pirelli Diablo Corsa III's I had on it before, but in the wet it feels 10 times better and they were cheaper... and they'll last longer...

I'm not going back down the route of sporty sticky tyres again. There was an article in ride magazine where they tested Sport against Sport Touring, each time the testers found the sport touring tyres were hotter after a lap of the test track and IIRC there wasnt much in it lap time wise either.

But i need the racers to keep using them otherwise no cheap source of tyres on Ebay. Go for it racers!

Well this is what the tyre place recommended. I don't know feck all about tyres I have never had to replace them before - cos I never kept a bike long enough

But I need to make a decision cos these things are getting near illegal. No I don't do track stuff. Well I did one last year, no definite plans to repeat and unlikely to be honest. Getting a lot faster on the road, but I'm no racer and never will be.

Looking at those everyone's come up with - yes lot of sense there. And a helluva lot cheaper too.

Yup. They're cheap and I really like mine a lot (10x) more than the BT015s that came on my bike.

Well they would, because thats top of range tyres, hence the price...

Out of those two, I'd be inclined to go with the Sportec M3's only because IIRC they're very similar to the Corsa III's that I've ridden on. I've not tried the Diablo Rosso's but I've heard very good things about them, but I wont recommend a tyre that I've not tried.

I'd still recommend you tried something Sport Touring, like you say you're a predominately a road rider, so get something made for the job you want it to do.

I must admit I got some strange looks from the bloke in the tyre place when I asked for Z6's for my GSXR, both from the tyre fitter and the people with sports bikes who were waiting for their tyres to get done.

PR2's. Soft on the outside, hard in the middle. sorted. They recon they are perfect on any type of bike on the road and that more sporty tyre's are wasted unless you are tracking it. Also with 12K miles out of the front and 8K out of the back on my bike you will be able to get as much if not more. Cost per mile... brilliant. Oh and no problem with grip, even on the edge of the tyre.

Upto you of course, your dosh.

Try national tyre's, I think (when I last had the pair done it was £190 or something like that fitted. You'll have to see if they do ride in ride out though as most just do take the wheel in...

Paid £80 for a pair of medium dunlops, thats fitted too, they were on a deal, my tyres were in illegal tread, and i had £87.53 in my bank..

Cant remember the type of dunlops, but for 80 note fitted, wasnt complaining..
That was from a guy who only does tyres..

Dealer said £153 for metlezers, + hours labour for a 10 minture job at £70..

Think i got a good deal
