If I had been THAT bothered I would have posted a link to the real page for deleting your facebook profile.

Was more an illustration of just how everyone should remember that you dont get anything for nothing.

However Warty, how would you like it if it was an easily identifiable picture of you drunk as a skunk being used as an anti-drinking poster?

With these kinds of policies the phrase "What goes on the Net stays on the Net" is even more true than of when the search engines and varied archiving sites started up.

Fair enough. Knowing your hatred of apple/microsoft etc I perhaps wrongly assumed you hated fakebook (sic) and wanted everyone to comment as to how 'terrible' they are, whereas it seems most couldn't really give a rats that their media rights are being taken.

Well, then the sensible thing would be to adopt a similar policy to that when using your work email. I don't type anything in an email at work that I wouldn't be happy for it to be printed out and put onto the work fridge for everyone to see.

SK! You digital legend. Have you heard about picsel in glasgow filing a suit against apple over their screen rendering/refreshing software which apple have allegedly used in their iphone and other itouch products?

As for facebook, my missus used to work in a hospital up north and one of her old colleagues/friends (who's a lovely girl but completely daft) posted pics of herself messing around with hospital equipment, namely lying down on hospital beds doing silly poses... one of the sisters caught a glimpse of the pics on facebook = 12 week suspension and final written warning.

Facebook: It's all fun and games till someone loses an eye (or their job)

I don't mind. Business is business...

dont put anything on facebook that is incriminating or daft. its quite obvious stuff really.

Actually you assume right tbh

I signed up to see what it was all about - and found that due to all the cack on it even when I was getting emails notifying me of "stuff" it was such a hassle and a poor experience I gave up on it.

And you have NO control over what is up there about you - a "friend" (in facebook terms) can put a pic that THEY took of you and then tag it - that picture - no matter what it is - is then linked to you.

Send a CV to an employer and if your email address is the same as your Facebook registered one there is a good chance they could be looking at your holiday snaps before deciding whether to see you.

Its a huge invasion of privacy - well it would be if it was an invasion - people are just giving this stuff away.

Its just another tech-fad, and why should my work etc benefit someone else without me getting a cut?
