Urban myth - there is no formal time between tax expiring and getting it taxed again/sorn'd. It's just the system takes time to catch up.....
whys it say it on the back of your tax renewal reminder letter then?
I'm sat reading it, and thats what it says

I remember seeing an advert not that long ago that says something about the dvla knowing if you have tax or not (i think it was tax) and that they send a letter to your house if it isn't renewed and you havn't declared the vehicle off the road...
The post office probably isnt open now but i can sort it out tomorrow. I wont get fined will i?
Nah I've done it for months before, they just gave me a warning.

I got fined this year, but then I'm always late with my tax disc so it was probably only a matter of time

Good reminder! Mine was out today too. But my bike is currently in the living room, getting the clean of its life!

matt wasn't happy with being fined for not sorning the YPVS, but he got fined again for not sorning one of the SRX's...since been scrapped!
What i didn't know is that you have to SORN them every twelve months. A bit of a drag when your bikes are permanently in pieces
