If the pc's doing something i.e. downloading torrents, it wont GO into standby, its an IDLE timeout, and its not idle.

Metallica have actually put up quite a few free downloads from their live stuff on the livemetallica.com site. Download an entire gig for free - bonus!

I bought the mp3 of the last gig of theirs that I went to (but couldn't hear me in the wash of the rest of the crowd screaming ;o)

pc is better for downloading, laptops seem to make loadsss of heat.

shouldn't use torrents either their easily trackable by your isp, just keep uploading to a low

not the case i'm afraid
idle = no user input
user input = moving the mouse, touching a key, etc. Just downloading isn't enough to stop it going into standby.
