If it was overheating, it would shut down not reboot, there is a setting to increase or reduce the shutdown temperature, look in the bios for system temperatures, 70 C+ is getting too hot for an Intel Cpu, 50 C is getting near the danger zone for your hard drive temp. AMD's are good for making toast, heating your house etc. Your motherboard and Hard disk have little sensors in them to measure temperatures and other stuff, the right program can read these, speedfan is a good one for windows. you might want to look whether you are getting spikes in your household power, you know when the Hifi speakers click when you turn on a lamp or something? well that click would reset your pc if it was on the same circuit, I had terrible trouble in my flat, cause the doorbell spiked the power like mad, as well as the heating thermostat, used to reset my computer all the time! had to get a power filter for the pc, cured it fine.

Obviously, for legal reasons, I am not suggesting that you try that...
As most PC cases are designed for air to flow THROUGH the case, no its NOT very clever to run without the side on.

Have tested this even in the hottest days of summer.

Point a fan at the input air vents by all means (probably on the front) but dont de-construct the case.

I'd bet a shiny welsh penny it's a STOP error, and it's set to not bother doing the memory dump and just restart.
