Yes but if they offered you a free service deal, then it should have been free. They owuld specify if it was free labour, or free parts. Free servicing to me, says everything is free. Sounds like you have been stitched up. Just put it down to expeirence and move on!

No cos I was never on any servicing deal. I was pointing out that normally for the 600 mile service no labour is charged, you pay for parts only (oil and filter). So you being charged for parts shows you were no different to any other punter.
Viney is right, you have been stitched up (which is what I was trying to say). |

I'm not going to let this one drop with them though. I love writing fierce letters of complaint so they had better brace themselves. I'm also a PR manager so if they want bad publicity they had picked the right person to fall out with! I know the power of the media when it comes to customer services and a company's reputation.

It sounds like you took a dealers own service plan and in the case of them closing you have more than likely lost this. I worked for Bikes UK when they folded and they had a similar thing - kindly the new owner of my shop honoured them, but didn't have to. Going to the manufacturer ref the service plan would have no stance as they didn't offer it, so would have nothing to honour so wouldn't waste your time
If they went into receivership, and you can find the paperwork you could try to place a claim in with them, or if they just shut up shop small claims court to the former directors, but to be honest for the hassle its not worth it! Or possibly if you paid by credit card you may be able to claim back from them as goods not received. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news and hopefully my next post will be more positive |
