I know a few other people who have the new one and say it's great.
+1 for the old cruise. The storm collar is a bit bulky though - in fact the storm cuffs are too. I spend ages getting my gloves tucked under them in the mornings, and i broke the zip on the left hand one, which HG Preston repaired for me in the shop in about 15 mins. But for warmth... went snowboarding in mine, totally up to the job even in -5 blizzard conditions with zero visibility. And the pads helped cos i'm rubbish does tend to make you look like a snowboarding robocop tho

The journey looks like a capable bit of kit too though. I do a lot of motorways and so always wear a neck tube, thick one for winter, thin one for summer. For protection, the cordura material is used because its tough, although it slides more easily than leather. I had a minor off and slid a few metres and it hasn't worn through, although the pocket popper got totally squashed by me landing on it.

That, as the name suggests, is the Cruise II, the replacement for the "old Cruise".

No thats the new one. Mine is the old one, like this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HEIN-GERICKE-CRUISE-GORETEX-JACKET-UK-38-Lot-39_W0QQitemZ250407486804QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Moto rcycle_Clothing?hash=item250407486804&_trksid=p328 6.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1689|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1 |240%3A1318#ebayphotohosting

Btw the old ones were widely labelled as "cruise II" as well, possibly by mistake but don't go entirely by the name.

Had a quick look on ebay, found one in my size, but don't know what to think of this: Main Fault – Not waterproof - Untested

Always a bit of a gamble i'm afraid. It means its been returned with the owner claiming it has leaked, but HG can't verify this. Its possible water might have got in through a gap somewhere, collar or sleeves, but there's no way to find out for sure. Hence the price

Any other places I could source a 44UK (54HG) size old Cruise jacket?
What's the feedback on the new ones?

I'd recommend the Journey suit from HG- recently bought the jacket, but was well impressed with the trousers over winter.
