I tend to look out the window. Another good method is check which way the wind is blowing and then try and think of anyone you know who lives upwind of you by 10 or 50 or 100 miles, (or search for a public webcam in that direction). Ask them what the weather is like where they are and sure enough you'll get the same soon enough. I think that most weather forecasters actually have a few blokes in boats off the coast of Cornwall, Scotland, East Anglia, etc, and they just text in what the weather's doing for them plus wind direction, and they work it out from there; would certainly save a lot of money on satellites if it were true...
I think in England this weather forecast is always true: 50% chance of showers with sunny spells and some cloud. You can't go far wrong with that. Alternatively, type "weather" into google and hit enter, it'll ask you for your postcode (the first time), and seems to be as right/wrong as any other weather forecast for me, i.e. 50/50. Or, buy one of those old barometer/temp guages/weather forecasting things that people used to nail to the wall in their hallways. They actually seemed quite accurate, or at least no less accurate than any other method. Good luck. |

![]() I actually emailed the BBC to complain about a year ago, and they told me they get their data from the met office! However...I find that I can look at the met office page and they have some thing where I can look at the movement of rain, etc over the last day - so I use that to work out if there's rain "nearby" and/or moving in my direction! |

I use accuweather, they tend to be pretty accurate for a science that is never accurate!

Accuweather, or whoever that puts the data into the weather widget on the OS X dashboard.
And then weather.com. |
