You'd have to be almost doing a stoppie for this to happen. As with a tiny amount of too much rear will lock it with ease.

If there are skid marks, wipe more carefully...

Exactly, you braked hard (you hooligan) . I think the OP was implying under normal braking conditions but I could be mistaken.

These pressures are only for the stock tyres. Other brands can vary. eg Conti recommend 36/42 for their RoadAttacks.

Might be a bit more complicated than that. If you're braking with the front, taking the weight off the rear wheel, at the same time as downshifting without blipping the throttle, I can see that the rear might lose traction. If you're driving it like a car and doing this just as you turn it in, then the bike will be all over the place, hence feeling like you're about to lose control.

To be fair Im using avons and have used Conti's and found out when I change down (Only one gear) and use engine breaking it does tend to lock up a bit. I just assumed it was part of the curvey.

Too much front brake is unlikely to be the reason. Unless he happens to be a GP rider.

As suggested, Engine braking is the obvious candidate followed by oil on the tyre, followed by too much rear brake but as we don't know the "certain circumstances" then we'll have to wait for more info (like thats ever stopped anyone )
