this is completely shocking! terrible behaviour by the driver also allowig a passenger to travel in the vehicle with a seatbelt on! I think he should probably have his liscense removed! as for thebpassenger it was such a shocking thingto do I think he deserves jail!

I think they've changed the law plowsie. I'm sure I read somewhere if the passenger is over like 13 or 16 or something it's their responisiblity.
Or is that pillions and helmets ![]()

Passengers over 14 are classed as adult passengers and are responsible for wearing the seatbelt. So a 14 year old will be done for no seatbelt, but a if a younger passenger is not wearing one, the driver is done.

Adults
Drivers and adult front seat passengers in cars must wear a seat belt, unless they have a medical exemption certificate. Adults travelling in the rear of a car must also use seat belts, if they are fitted. It is the responsibility of the adult passenger (not the driver) to ensure that they are using the seat belt. |
