So, is your mate actually you?

In the past, I've been at triple x speeds & seen a car coming the other way & pinned it. I found out what the top speed of the bike was (I wasn't on mine).

But I wouldn't advise anyone to do the same - there's always the potential that they'll radio the details - and no bike is faster than a radio.

Either way , if they wanted to be funny about anything they would find a way of punishing him for something they couldn`t quite gather evidence for . The Stubby exhaust would cop him a nice fat £30 fine if unbaffled or found to be over the noise limit , number plates would get measured etc etc .

They would probably also throw in some other ticking offs for his riding and lack of obs . They`ll get you one way or another if they want to .

No of course not. If it was there's no way I'd admit to doing an indicated 125mph in a 60 zone and publishing it on an open forum. That would be silly!

I have a more down to earth question: would you FILTER past a police
car (stuck in a queue of cars and going in the same direction as
you)? I sometimes encounter this problem on my commute and I tend to
hold back.

Yes. So long as you're not doing a silly speed past them, whilst filtering. Nothing illegal about filtering (when done correctly).

Depends on how small my plate was and how loud my can was at the time
Have filtered passed them a couple of times, one even moved over to allow me more room.
However, i've also purposely sat behind one because my plate resembled a postage stamp and the bike sounded like a doodle bug, needless to say i got off at the next available junction and found a different route

What Baph said Prof. I've even filtered past them down Muswell hill and for those that dont know its a very steep hill with 1 lane going down and 2 comming up...seperated by solid white lines. I was over the solid lines cos it was the only way to pass all the stationary traffic.
I went past them very slowly and when the driver saw me in his wing mirror he just stared at me as i went past and as soon as i did i gave him a thumbs up as if to say "thanks for accepting its the sensible thing to do here" and he left me alone.
I think if they see you showing consideration, care and road awarensss they leave you alone 9 out of 10 times.
had you been a yooof on a scoot tho i'm sure they'd pull you just cos you gave them a reason and then they can check your documents etc.

Thanks, guys, for the replies regarding filtering past police cars!
Will give it a try next time I am going down Avenue Road towards
Regents Park. If I am stopped, I will refer the police to you (as my
legal representatives).
