He is unlikely to get the job I think, he is pretty unpopular in the force AFAIK. (the twit in charge of roads policing is thought of the same way). Part of problem is Brunstrum created a personality cult around himself and is surrounded by yes men.

This came on the news as I was in the kitchen cooking , My window was open and as they mentioned the article I heard one of my neighbours give a Homer style "Wooo-Hoooooo"

I wouldn't celebrate to soon. Ex chiefs have a tendency of getting cushy little jobs in some influential government department where they can do twice the damage but without being public. Perhaps we can have a whip round and but him a short holiday somewhere hot, like Mexico?
