Default Re: Squirting coolant when hot

I checked before i set off home and the expansion tank was empty..I didnt have any water so watched the temp which was fine..lucky no traffic. Will let it cool tonight and fill up.

The fluid level drops over a period of riding and I never knew where it was going..( head gasket worries but no milky oil..last changed 2 months ago after 2.5k) So top it up via the expansion bottle. I was worried I did something the last time I changed the coolant back last august so drained the coolant again after the oil change and rechecked the banjos at the top of the radiator.

Put fairings on recently and have noticed the running temp go up on my way in to work ( running 97-106 as opposed to 86-97 with occasional 105). The fan kicks in and never goes above 106. Today spent most of its time in 97 -106. I'll filll up via the cap and see it much has left the radiator.. thx for the tips

Your sure the temp is geting higher because the weather has got hotter?
Allso the fairings will make a difference because they will reduce air flow around the engine.
Those temperatures don't sound too bad to me. Have you tried bleeding the system? An airlock could potentialy cause funny things to happen.

took the cap off today and added some coolant..started spilling out almost straight away. I checked the expansion tank and after closer inspection it seems that there was some left in the tank.. not sure what this means..it probably means I've been over filling I hope.
