Quiff mine is an Active-7 smart. Quite an old unit but works 100% (and was a bargain second hand!) It runs off the bike battery, using a connector that links to my Optimate lead that is connected to the battery. I only plug it in when using it and most of the time it sits in a drawer at home.
The leads are quite long enough for you to get off the bike before disconnecting. |

I run an Autocom 300 Pro Duo AVI , cannot fault it at triple figure speeds and the best thing is that I have mine connected to my Optimate flylead so it`s removeable ...... don`t want it going with the bike if an accident occurs , these breakers would scavenge that off right away . And when you stop you can tell Mandy "Don`t forget to unplug Love" over the intercom
![]() I have MP3 running on it as well as Satnav and a Bluetooth Dongle for phone calls , I only run this system on big jaunts on Motorways to be honest , if it`s a rideout then I just have Bluetooth for the phone in case we lose anyone ![]() |

Cheers all..
I am at a "make me an offer" stage on an autocom 300 duo at moment- but would have to fit it myself and no guarantee. contemplating ordering direct off autocom- they only in warwick.. riding over and theyfit it to the bike and the helmets etc and we are all guaranteed. That said- dropping on a cheap second hand one would be ace I know my mp3 on random would plug in .. shame cant get radio I love radio 2. never ridden with music on b4 though.. and I question if a radio would keep signal as youmoved aroun the country etc. so - still a quandry.. Mike appreciate you looking up what it is.. I suppose I dont have to hard wire it in eh I know they run off a pp3 dont they too.. |

Another vote for Autocom - I have used the same Autocom Active Rider kit for the last 7 or 8 years or so on my SV650, SV1000 & Sprint.
Fitting is, as Mike suggested, a piece of p155 - especially if you have room under the seat. Just needs a switched live (tail light is a good option) to splice in to, connect the -ve to the battery, route the mike leads, fit the speakers and mikes in the helmets (this is probably the hardest bit - not difficult, just takes a bit of time to get it right). Works great, even at almost twice the limit - can also connect MP3 & Satnag if needed. Autocom quite often have half price sales when they bring out new models, which I think they are just about to do.....

+1, I get on the bike to get away from the fuggin' nagging.
I've sometimes wished I had one on the bike, but 10% of the time it'd be useful, and 90% of the time it'd be used to tell me I was going too fast... or leaning to far... or she needed the loo... or her ar$e was sore... or her hands were cold... or her chinstrap was too tight... How many arguments have you had in the car? Now you can have them on the bike too? No way Jose! |
